Anti-Semitic lawmaker Ilhan Omar believes global forces belonging to the U.N. should take over American border security

If you were looking for additional proof that Somali immigrant Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was as anti-American as she is anti-Semitic, here you go.

In recent days, Omar — a frequent critic of President Donald Trump’s efforts to protect the integrity of our boundaries, like all civilized, first-world countries do — said that we should relinquish this duty to an international force commanded by the United Nations.

As Ryan Saavedra points out over at The Daily Wire, such a move would “undermine the United States’ national sovereignty.” He notes further:

Omar made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking to her constituents during an immigration forum in south Minneapolis. Omar, who was accused this week of having an affair with a married man, lectured the audience about losing the “moral high ground” on the issue of immigration.

“We should do what any other country does by dealing with this situation in a serious way,” Omar said. “So, we have to bring in the United Nations high commissioner on refugees, an agency that has the expertise and the training to handle massive flows of refugees humanely.”

Uh, maybe that’s what failed countries like her native Somalia have to do — rely on international peacekeepers and institutions to govern and protect the population. But the world’s lone superpower neither needs nor should want any other country defending our borders or enforcing our laws. 

Saavedra notes that before she called for an international U.N. force to police our borders, she claimed — sans evidence — that the Trump administration was arresting and then deporting illegal immigrants just because they’re poor:

Omar makes a habit of calling for a weakening of our sovereignty and our ability to protect and defend our country and our borders. In February, Omar joined other Left-wing Democratic socialists in calling for the elimination of the entire Department of Homeland Security — the national security agency responsible for the integrity of our borders and enforcement of our immigration and asylum laws. 

Idiocy on steroids

Recall that DHS was created in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in which nearly 20 Muslim radicals flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, killing nearly 3,000 Americans. Omar’s bestie, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has also called for the elimination of DHS. “ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is not under DOJ, it’s under the Department of Homeland Security and so we have now…”

“Would you get rid of Homeland Security too?” she was asked.

“I think so. I think so,” she replied, The Daily Wire noted.

That’s just idiocy on steroids.

As for the U.N., once upon a time it might have served as a decent International forum for conflict mitigation and discussion among world leaders and countries at odds with each other. But like its doomed predecessor, the post-World War I League of Nations, the U.N. has become little more than another “hate America” global entity whose members have no problem relying on the U.S. taxpayer to fund its endeavors but who use the world body as a forum to undermine and criticize Washington at every turn.

It’s fitting that Omar favors it. She’s demonstrated time and again that American interests are not her top concern in pushing for policies that would not only weaken us but endanger our citizens as well.

That she was elected to Congress is insulting and disgraceful to our founding.
