In addition to making his first moves to destroy American energy independence by canceling pipelines and safe drilling on federal (taxpayer) lands, President Joe Biden also demonstrated he is intent on making our country less safe.
Late last week following a report from Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that the Biden regime had ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel to release thousands of illegal aliens in their custody — the vast majority of them criminals for reasons other than sneaking into our country — the state of Texas filed suit in federal court to have the insidious and dangerous order stopped.
“Texas sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday after the agency issued a memo that ordered immigration agencies to stop most deportations,” The Daily Caller reported, citing pushback from state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who called the outrageous order unconstitutional.
Specifically, Paxton said that the order, which amounted to a 100-day moratorium on all deportations, was in violation of a “mutually beneficial agreement” in which the Department of Homeland Security is required to give Texas a 180-day advance notification of major policy changes that affect enforcement actions.
U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, issued a temporary restraining order on Jan. 26, blocking Biden’s policy nationwide for 14 days after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton challenged it in court.
The order is a setback to the Biden administration, which has proposed far-reaching changes, including a plan to legalize about 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States illegally. Last week, the administration also issued an order that halts all U.S.–Mexico border wall construction.
Paxton took to Twitter to tout the ruling.
VICTORY.
Texas is the FIRST state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden Admin.
AND WE WON.
Within 6 days of Biden’s inauguration, Texas has HALTED his illegal deportation freeze.
*This* was a seditious left-wing insurrection. And my team and I stopped it.

“VICTORY. Texas is the FIRST state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden Admin. AND WE WON,” Paxton wrote. “Within 6 days of Biden’s inauguration, Texas has HALTED his illegal deportation freeze. *This* was a seditious left-wing insurrection. And my team and I stopped it.” (Related: Biden gets right to work dismantling the Trump legacy using executive orders to destroy the economy, reopen borders and make America weak again.)
The legal action came after David Pekoske, acting Homeland Security secretary, fired off a memorandum saying that the deportation freeze would give DHS time to “ensure that its resources are dedicated to responding to the most pressing challenges that the United States faces.” Included were the “immediate operational challenges at the southwest border in the midst of the most serious global public health crisis in a century.”
Then, in typical Democrat Orwellian fashion, Pekoske added: “Throughout this interim period, DHS will continue to enforce our immigration laws.”
Yes, except those requiring the deportation of people in our country illegally.
Stephen Miller, a former policy adviser to President Trump, told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Monday night just how extensive the Biden regime’s order really is.
“This is the most extreme directive, I would argue, really in the history of modern law enforcement that has ever been issued,” he said. “Acting Secretary [David] Pekoske issued a memorandum on the evening of January 20th, the day of the inauguration, putting into place a 100-day deportation moratorium. There’s very narrow exceptions in that memorandum that would apply to only a handful of people in a given year. It would be terrorists and spies, really extraordinary cases.”
Continuing, Miller noted that of the 180,000 people removed from the U.S. last year, 92 percent of them were criminals beyond just illegally sneaking into the country.
“What it means Tucker, is that the work of ICE officers will grind to a halt beginning February 1st. Why February 1st? Because that is the date by which ICE has to come up with implementing guidance for the memo,” Miller continued.
“And so, every sheriff’s office, every police department, every correctional facility in the country, that for years has been handing over illegal aliens to ICE to pick them up and take them home, which is the bread and butter of ICE’s work; all of those people will not get picked up anymore,” he said.
The order has been halted — for now. Biden’s regime will appeal. And then, maybe, the case will get to the Supreme Court that Donald Trump built.
